Shelby County Department of Housing is a public housing agency that helps provide decent and safe rental housing for eligible low-income families, the elderly, and persons with disabilities. Shelby County Department of Housing does not operate rental properties, currently operate a county PHA, or maintain any vouchers. Basically we operate a rehab program for low income owner-occupants (CDBG and HOME Grants) and a Down Payment Assistance Program for low-to-moderate homebuyers (local funding).
